Global Connectivity Challenge
Governments, industry and organizations such as the United Nations have formally recognized the critical importance of Internet connectivity to the development and sustainability of communities worldwide. The edge of the connected world is currently limited by the cost of deploying wired and mobile networks in remote rural areas. Beyond this edge, individuals and communities are without this essential service. Access to healthcare, education, services, social resources and the ever growing online marketplace continue to become increasingly dependent on being connected to the digital world. The covid 19 pandemic has recently shown us without a doubt that access to the internet for remote and rural individuals and communities around the world is of essential importance. Without this access these communities are at extreme risk of falling further and further behind socially and economically. This rapidly widening digital divide threatens not only the physical, mental, emotional and finicial health of each individual but the community and ultimetly the health of the country.
